Rose Lyn Janice Hancox's Obituary
Rose Lyn Janice Hancox of Marion, Iowa, passed away October 12, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Jan was born to Laurel and Geneva Brown at the farm north of Promise City, Iowa, on April 17, 1946. She graduated from Seymour High School. She was united in marriage to Wayne Hancox on March 25, 1962 in Memphis, Missouri. To this union two sons were born Scott and Greg. Jan loved to fish, camp, sew, embroider, quilt and crochet. She also loved trips with her sisters, spending time with family, and playing the slot machine.
Jan is survived by her husband Wayne Hancox of Marion, Iowa, sons Scott Hancox (Lindy) of Marion, Iowa, Greg Hancox (Sarah) of Solon, Iowa, her eight grandchildren Ryleigh (Creed), Payton, Jacey, Tyler, Sawyer, Makynlie, Emily, and Alyssa Hancox, two great grandchildren, sisters Joy (Carroll), Lois Ziegler, Elaine McGrann, sister-in-law Sandi Brown and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Allan and Ellis Brown, sisters Devee Baker and Bernita Simonson.
A funeral service honoring Janice will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon, Iowa on January 3, 2022 at 1:30 pm with visitation from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm prior to the funeral service to greet friends and family.
