Rosalie Casassa's Obituary
Rosalie Casassa, 84, of Centerville passed away on January 24, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. Rosalie was born on May 9th, 1931. Her parents were Joe and Rose (Bonel) Casassa. Rosalie lived with them in Rathbun, IA. Rosalie lived with her parents until they were no longer physically able to care for her. After their deaths, Rosalie lived at Centerville Care Center and then was transferred to the Zylpha Price Home, where she lived from 1982 until 2015. Rosalie was very much interested in the people she lived with. She had an infectious twinkle in her eye when friends, family and community members came to visit her. She had a great understand of the Catholic faith. She donated to her church and gave books to the St. Mary's School library. Rosalie is survived by eight cousins; Christine McDonald (Walter) of Nevada, IA, Gene Sacco (Sue) of Centerville, IA, Raymond Sacco of Centerville, IA, Suzanne Abbott (John-deceased) of Maryville, MO, Kathy Martin of Pleasantville, IA, Raymond Todey (Jean) of Ottumwa, IA, Theresa Kopatich (John) of Davenport, IA and Evelyn Bonel (John-deceased) of Frederick, CO. She was preceded by her parents. Funeral Mass will be held for Rosalie on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Patrick Hilgendorf officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service, 10:00 AM at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Zylpha Price Home or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
