Ronnie Lira's Obituary
Ronnie Lira, age 56 of Numa, Iowa died Friday December 26, 2003 at his home in Numa, Iowa.
He was born July 15, 1947 at Centerville the son of Ronnie P. and Ethel(Jones) Lira. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1965 and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War stationed in Korea. He worked for ALCOA in Bettendorf, IA, then had his own company with seamless gutter. In 1974 he moved back to Centerville where he worked as an electrician for Elliott Electric. He was married to Janice Potter May 16, 1997 and she survives him. He was a member of the IBEW, Local #13, Burlington, Iowa. He loved God, Country, his family heritage and he like to be outside hunting and sitting along the bankfishing.
He is survived by his wife Janice of Numa, two children Amber Houser and her husband Raymond of Ankeny, and Lee Lira of Plano, his mother Ethel Lira of Numa, a grandchild Bryce Houser of Ankeny, uncles Louie Lira and his wife Edith, J.P. (Premo) Lira and his wife Mary Lou, Carl Jones and his wife Doris, aunts Janice Kay Grenko, Eleanor Lira-Noll McCary, Ruth Saranko Lira, Mother-in-law LaVeta Potter, nine first cousins and a multitude of close friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his father Ronnie P. and infant brother John Phillip, paternal grandparents John and Geneva Lira, maternal grandparents Guy F. Jones, Bessie M. Sage-Jones Grenko, a step-grandfather Tony P. Grenko, uncle G.A. Lira and father-in-law Wilbur Potter.
Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday December 31, 2003 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Fr. Joe Miller Officiating. Burial will be in the Numa Cemetery, Numa.
