Ronnie 'Red' Dean Coffman's Obituary
Ronnie Dean "Red" Coffman, age 65, of Moravia, Iowa, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at Ridgewood Specialty Care in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Red was born on December 29, 1952 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Plaz and Mammie May (Hall) Coffman. He graduated from Davenport Central High School with the Class of 1970.
His favorite place to be was home. He loved Christmas and listening to anything from the Eagles or ZZ Top. Red worked for the LaFarge Corporation in Buffalo, Iowa in Cement production, until his retirement. He was a member of the Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene in Moravia. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. The most important things in his life were his son, Nathan; being with his grandson and watching him in his sporting events; and his dogs and his cat.
Left to honor Reds memory are his son, Nathan (Jessica) Coffman of Albia; a grandchild, Nathan Andrew Coffman; siblings, Carl Coffman of Montpelier, Iowa, Wilma Hicks of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Reatta (Jerry Sr.) Sindt of Centerville, Iowa, and Linda (Obbie) Sindt of Montpelier, Iowa; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Red was preceded in death by his parents, Plaz and Mammie Coffman; and his siblings, Howard Earl Coffman, Florence Johnson, Delores Carter, and Maxine Thornburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene in Moravia, with Rev. Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow the service at Salem Cemetery near Udell, Iowa. A visitation will take place on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, with family greeting friends from 5:00-8:00PM.
