Ronald Lee Davis' Obituary
Ronald Lee Davis, 75 of Promise City passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at his home in Promise City. Ron was born on March 28, 1943 in Sherburn, Minnesota to Marvin & Evelyn (Mathwig) Davis. On November 15, 1959, Ron was united in marriage to Betty Maxine Shelton at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Ceylon, Minnesota. Ron grew up on a farm and spent many years working on the farm. He did work for a time selling real estate. Ron enjoyed watching Western shows, going to flea markets, camping and his winters spent with Betty in New Mexico and Arizona. Ron was truly at peace out on the farm with the cattle and horses driving his tractor and later years with his dog, "Pepper". Survivors include his wife, Betty, children: Dar (Bill) Ellis, Patty (Larry) Warren, Cherie Trude, Kathy (Mark) McClain, Dale (Chris) Davis, Jenny Ripperger (Randy), 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, one great- great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister Bev (Terry) Schermerhorn, sister-in-law, Connie Davis, nephew, Jared Davis (who shared a birthday with Ron) and great grandson, Fisher Anderson. Funeral service will be 1:30 pm, Monday, January 21, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow at Promise City Cemetery. Visitation will take place one and a half hours prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:30 pm.
