Ronald Lewis Bidwell's Obituary
Ronald Lewis Bidwell, age 59, of Centerville passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville.
Ronald was born on March 3, 1961 in Bend, Oregon, the son of Ronald Dean Bidwell and Emma Kay (Lowery) Bidwell. On August 1, 1978, he was united in marriage to Leslie Bowers in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. To this union, two children were born, Michael and Rebecca.
Following high school, Ronald enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country faithfully for over 13 years, from 1978-1991, before being honorably discharged. He then went to 2 years of college for computer technology.
Ronald worked as a commercial Fisherman off the Oregon coast for a couple of years. He was also long hauling truck driver for a period of time. Ronald also enjoyed being a stay at home handyman.
Ronald absolutely loved fishing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed cooking, especially his spaghetti and pork noodles. Most recently, he drove for 10-15. He loved driving to different appointments, playing Christian music for them. He thoroughly enjoyed online gaming with his friends on the computer.
Left to honor Ronalds memory are his wife of 42 years, Leslie Bidwell of Centerville; his father, Ronald Dean (Colleen) Bidwell of Sutherland, Oregon; his children, Mike Bidwell of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Becky Bidwell of Millerton, Iowa; three grandchildren, Allea Davis, Victoria Davis, and Harlie Quinn Bidwell; and two sisters, Tammie (Randy) Hulett, and Jenise (Rick) Farnum.
Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Kay Bidwell; a son in law, Bobby Drake; and a daughter in law, Leanne Hanson-Bidwell.
Cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be left to Leslie Bidwell, to be determined at a later date, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
