Ron Overturf's Obituary
Ronald Overturf, age 63, of Centerville formerly of Moravia died Wednesday evening, June 21, 2006 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.
Ron was born November 13, 1942 the son of Arthur and Bertha (Howk) Overturf in Centerville, Iowa. He graduated from Moravia High School. He married Karen Woodward on May 8, 1960 at the Methodist Church in Moravia, Iowa. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife; Karen, son; Greg (Susie) Overturf of Mt. Pleasant, IA, two daughters; Pam (John) Lageman of Altoona, IA and Peggy (David) Elliott of Centerville, IA, six grandchildren; Travis (Amber) Hawk of Storm Lake, IA, Derek Hawk of Iowa City, IA, Matthew Lageman of Altoona, IA, Brooke Overturf of Des Moines, IA, Jessica Overturf of Des Moines, IA and Katie Overturf of Storm Lake, IA, one great grandson; Truin Hawk, five sisters; Velma (Dean) Tisue of Sumner, IA, Wilma (Bob) Scieszinski of Des Moines, IA, Verna Wakefield of Mystic, IA, Kay (Roger) White of Lincoln, NE, and Judy (Clarence) Ballanger of Centerville and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Russell Overturf, Rex Overturf, a niece Kathy Overturf, a sister-in-law Charlotte Overturf, and a brother-in-law Charles Wakefield.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday June 24, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Centerville. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia. Visitation will be held Friday evening with family present from 6-8 PM at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Mercy Hospice of Johnston and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
