Roma Egbert's Obituary
Roma Dell Egbert, age 75, died Monday, August 18, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville, Iowa.
Roma was born May 5, 1933, the daughter of Talton Emery and Cleva Grace (Haner) Hogue in Wayne County. Roma married Glenn Egbert October 27, 1950 in Russell, Iowa. He preceded her in death. She was a bartender at the Silver Spur and Numa Station for many years. Roma loved spending time with her family at home and at work. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafts, gardening and keeping up with her yard. Roma was a wonderful cook and a wonderful person. She was a member of the Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville, Iowa.
Roma is survived by a daughter, Debra Foster of Centerville, Iowa; two sons, Terry (Wanda) Egbert of Centerville, Iowa and Steve (Renee) Egbert of Newton, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Tanya Henderson, Raymond Marks, Zachary Egbert, Jesse Mathes, Michelle Marks, Brianna Brawley, and Stevie Egbert; four great-grandchildren, Eli Henderson, Chelsea Wireman, Sophie Henderson, Jonathon Egbert and one expected in November; and two sisters, Wilma Faris of Centerville, Iowa and Wanda Hogue of Numa, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; two brothers, Don and Alvin Hogue; and one son-in-law, Don Foster.
Graveside cremation service will be held 2 Pm, Monday, August 25, 2008 at the Russell Cemetery in Russell, Iowa with Pastor Watley officiating. A visitation with public viewing will be held Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville, Iowa with family present from 6-8 PM. A memorial has been established to the family and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
