Roland Singley's Obituary
William Roland Singley, 83, of Moulton, passed away on March 22, 2017 at his home. Roland was born on June 10, 1933 in Centerville, Iowa to the late William Clifford and Dora (Cline) Singley. He received his education from Moulton High School, graduating in 1951. On December 18, 1954 Roland was united in marriage to Lila Wolver. To this union came three children: Brenda, Ronald and Doris. Roland worked as a farmer and was a bus driver for Moulton-Udell school district for 26 years. In his spare time he enjoyed mowing lawns, woodworking, fishing, camping, leather working and proudly maintained Washington Township cemeteries for many years. He was a member of Fairview Church of the Brethren and a previous member of Moulton Christian Church. Roland is survived by his loving wife, Lila; daughters: Brenda Bryant of Moulton and Doris Spinler of Ankeny; brother, Richard Singley of Ottumwa; sisters: Wanda Gordon of Florida, Joan (Lain) McWilliams of Florida and Jean (Richard) Westercamp of Oskaloosa; grandchildren: Kayla Bryant of Altoona, Loran (Lauren) Bryant of Moulton, Brittany Spinler of Albia and Amber Spinler of Ankeny. He is also survived by great grandchildren: Trentin, Tanner, Adelyn and Carter. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Singley; brother in law, Henry Gordon and his sister in law, Edith Singley. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Sunset View Cemetery, Hospice of Central Iowa or the Moulton First Responders.
