Roger Arnold Mullins' Obituary
Roger Arnold Mullins, age 77, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at his home.
Roger was born on December 17, 1947 in Exline, Iowa, the son of Cyril "CP" and Opal (Mercer) Mullins. He graduated from Moravia High School with the Class of 1966. He joined the United States Army on July 6, 1966. He served his country faithfully, serving a year with The United States Army Pacific in Vietnam. On July 5, 1972, Roger was honorably discharged in Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Roger worked in the Maintenance department at the Post Office. In his free time, he enjoyed talking politics, working in his shop-making trailers and spending time with his dogs.
Left to honor Roger's memory are his sister, Mary (James) VeVerka; his nieces and nephews, Robin Brock, Michelle (Ross) Montoya, Lance Robertson, James (Lindsey) VeVerka, Benton VeVerka, Jesse (Mackenzie) Mullins, Corey (Sheila) Mullins; his sister-in-law, Donna Mullins; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, CP and Opal Mullins; his siblings, Carol Robertson and Larry Mullins; and his nephew, Jody Robertson.
Per wishes, cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Memorials in honor of Roger have been established to Furever Friends Rescue of Appanoose Inc., and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Mullins Family, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
