Roger D. Mehrhoff's Obituary
Roger Mehrhoff, age 56 of Centerville, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
He was born on November 22, 1960 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Floyd Dean and Dolores (Phillips) Mehrhoff. At the age of 24, Roger enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country faithfully and was honorably discharged.
In his early adult years, Roger worked in various jobs, including carpentry and factory work. He later became employed with the Appanoose County Secondary Roads Department. Roger proudly worked for the County for fifteen years.
Roger was united in marriage to Genevieve VanNoy in Cincinnati, Iowa, on June 14, 1986.
In his free time he enjoyed working on classic cars, especially his 66 Chevy Impala SS. Most importantly, Roger cherished weekend visits with family and friends in his garage, sharing in fellowship and good conversation.
Roger is survived by his mother, Dolores Mehrhoff of Centerville; his wife, Genevieve Mehrhoff of Centerville; two children, Tammy Farley of Centerville and Tracy VanNoy of Centerville; two grandchildren, Amanda Cooper of Corydon, Iowa and Megan Farley of Ottumwa, Iowa; two great granddaughters, Tayleigh and Charleigh Cooper; a brother, Randy (Sandy) Mehrhoff of Cincinnati, Iowa; a sister, Susan Mehrhoff of Centerville; and aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Dean Mehrhoff.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Ken Mehrhoff officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 5-7 PM.
