Rodney Long, 38, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 near Bedford, Iowa. Rodney was born on December 16, 1974 in Centerville to Ronald & Elizabeth (Hibdon) Long. He attended Seymour Schools. Rodney enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his daughter Eriney. Rodney is survived by his daughter Eriney Long of Centerville, father, Ron Long of Promise City, Iowa, eight siblings: Russell (Lori) Lewis of Allerton, Jimmy Lewis of Mississippi, Connie (Bill) Boyd of Promise City, Monte (Carol) Lewis of Seymour, Bob (Patty) Lewis of Mystic, Michael Helmick of Promise City, Gail (Joyce) Helmick of Seymour, Destiny Long of Promise City and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Long, and grandparents: Mable Hibdon, Ivan and Carmen Long. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Thomas Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Mystic. Memorials may be given to the family.
