Rodney A. Ballanger's Obituary
Rodney Ballanger, age 48 of Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Centerville, Iowa, passed away June 5, 2012 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri.
Rodney was born June 2, 1964 in Centerville, the son of Delmar and Joann Ballanger. He was raised in Centerville and graduated from Centerville High School in 1984. Rodney worked for Iowa Southern Utilities until he was hurt on the job. Rodney farmed for 25 years and was currently working at Vintage Corvette Shop.
Rodney loved teasing his mother, riding his Harley motorcycle, and playing with his grandchildren. He helped his kids with 4H projects, showing cattle, also with the horse and coaching baseball. Rodney received the honor of Appanoose County Fair Dad for his active role with the fair. He also liked going racing at Eddyville and Kansas City for drag racing. He was a member of the Omaha Baptist Church, Omaha , MO.
He is survived by the mother of his children Tammy Ballanger of Centerville, three children, Janee (Brock ) Carson of Centerville, Justine Ballanger of Centerville, Jacoby Ballanger of Centerville; his parents, Delmar and Erma Joann Ballanger of Centerville; two grandchildren Presley and Kaleha Carson of Centerville; a brother Rick (Kathy) Ballanger of Centerville, a sister Romona (Allen) McDanel of Blue Springs MO, and Nieces and Nephews and great Nieces and Nephews,and fiance' Renee Estrada and her family
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rochelle and Rebecca; grandparents Otis and Stella Ballanger, William and Juanita Benge, Helen and Bob Clark, and Kenneth and Wilma Jones.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, June 9, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Centerville with Pastor Lloyd Johnston officiating. The family will be at the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory Friday evening, from 6-8 PM to receive friends. Burial will be in the Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. A memorial has been established to the Rodney Ballanger Memorial Fund and may be left at the LANGE Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences may be left at www.langefh.com
