Roberta "Pauline" Cowan's Obituary
Roberta 'Pauline' Cowan, age 65, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 at her home in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Clarence and Bessie P. (Stroud) Chapman on August 7, 1943 in Davenport, Iowa. She graduated from the Davenport West High School and later attended Indian Hills Community College for her LPN Degree.In December of 1964, Pauline was united in marriage to Perry L. Cowan in Davenport, Iowa. She worked for a time at the Crescent Cookie Company and the Wonder Bread Company both in Davenport before moving to the Centerville area. Once in Centerville, she worked for McGraw-Edison, Jeff Scott Metals both in Centerville and also, Merico in Seymour, Iowa before beginning her work as a Home Health Aid. She was a member of the Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville.She was preceded in death by: her parents and a infant grandchild, Jack D. Cowan.Pauline is survived by: her daughter, Jolita Cowan of Centerville, Iowa; son, Perry Cowan of Independence, Missouri; brothers, Bennie McGuirk of Garnavillo, Iowa and Clarence Chapman of Walcott, Iowa; sisters, Ruby Hurt of Centerville, Iowa, Dorothy Wille of Garnavillo, Iowa, Norman Bulens of Rock Island, Illinois and Rieta Mattis of Peoria, Arizona; grandchildren, Mercedes and Dominic Kramer both of Independence, Missouri.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Tammy Haines officiating. Burial will follow in the Shoney Cemetery near Omaha, Missouri. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 2 pm till 6 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with the family present from 4 pm till 6 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the family and left at the funeral home.
