Robert "Bobby" Dale McCarty's Obituary
Robert Dale McCarty, son of Howard and Estel (Ward) McCarty was born May 12, 1955 in Lineville, Missouri and peacefully passed from this life on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Chariton Specialty Care at 61 years of age. Bob attended Wayne Community Schools and graduated with the Class of 1973. He was united in marriage to Linda Skinner on September 9, 1973 in Lineville. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Bob took great care and pride in having a warm loving home and he loved working in his yard, garden and planting flowers. Bob also enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and small engine repair. He spent time bird watching and was especially fond of purple martins. He served as a dedicated Volunteer on the Allerton Fire Department for 25 years, worked as a farmhand, and retired from New Zealand Manufacturing Company. Those relatives who precede him in death were his parents, step mother, Jean (Bevel) McCarty, brother, Gary, sister, Arlene Mulvania, sisters-in-law, Darlene, Donna, and Jean, mother-in-law, Ila Yates. Bob leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Linda, children; Stephanie Jones (Mark) of Nevada, Iowa; Geni McCarty (Tom Walkup) of Humeston, Iowa, grandchildren: Britni McCarty, Jake Ogden, Tanner, Corbin and Logan Jones, siblings; Jim of Corydon, Max (Marquetta Rhoades) of Allerton, Rex of Des Moines, John (Jeralee) of Corydon, father-in-law, Charlie Yates of Bethany, Missouri, sister-in-law, Donna Stevenson (Jim Hurd) of Fall Creek, Wisconsin, as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will be in Allerton Cemetery immediately following. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bob's family for a fitting tribute to be decided at a later date and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
