I met Rob as a freshman at Shanley high school and soon we became friends. The second year he went away to South but I spent a lot of time at the Lind's home planning what we would do that evening and the weeks to come. I also worked at Shotwell's with Rob and his father one spring, if Rob wasn't at home we went over to Shotwell's. Rob was always a hard worker. In the summertime we spent time at our lake, cruised Broadway, went to the DL pavilion, and did a lot of hunting and fishing. We looked for crayfish at night and cooked them at the trailer. Our first big hunting trip was out of state to Montana. We went with a couple from Shotwell's and Dave Peckskamp to hunt for deer and antelope at Ekalaka. We spent quite some time in the Lind basement reloading shells, and target shooting with our bows to get ready for that trip. We made many trips with Dave, Doug Fischer and other friends to the Garrison dam, duck hunting, and at the farm in Richardton. Eventually we went to NDSU and joined the ATO fraternity and had many good times. When Rob moved to go to Boulder for school, we missed him so much we drove out there to see him. I would consider that Rob was a best friend to many people. I met my wife at a party he arranged. He always went to King Leo's and could eat 5 hamburgers any day. He always said he was related to Bobbie Vee, he always sang along to Tom Jones and Frankie Valli on the radio, and I always think of him when I hear those songs. I have so many good memories of Rob, it was the best time of our lives for me. Fargo's loss was Centerville's gain. My sincere sympathies go to Rob's family and friends, Jeff Baer
