Robert Leazer's Obituary
Robert W. Leazer Robert Wallace Leazer was born in Corydon, Iowa, June 24, 1917 to John H. and Libbie L. (Crees) Leazer and passed from this life on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Lucas County Health Center in Chariton with his family by his side. Bob grew up in Corydon and graduated from Corydon High School in 1935. On December 4, 1938, at Unionville, Mo., he married Allie McIntosh. To this union two daughters were born, Sharon Sue and JoBeth. Bob was one of the founders of Voltmaster Batteries and worked there for several years and retired from Shivvers Manufacturing in 1982. After retirement he and Allie spent their winters in California with their daughter Sharon. In the summer Bob and Allie would camp and fish at Rathbun. Bob was a member of the United Methodist Church in Corydon. Bob's favorite things were his family, reading, camping, fishing, traveling, he was an avid gardener, and was vocal about his stance on politics. He loved to reminisce about how he got his pilot's license in 1948 and had part ownership of a Taylor Craft two-seater airplane. He and Allie would fly to Cheyenne to visit Allie's brother, Wayne. They would sometimes fly over Allie's parent's farm northwest of Lineville and would leave their mark by throwing out rolls of toilet paper over the farm. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Bob is survived by Allie, the love of his life, best friend and wife of 73 years, daughter, JoBeth (Gary) Trimble, his brother Gene Leazer, grandchildren, Katie ( BJ) Gerving, Jen Fullbright, Kami (Chad) Welch, and Robert Trimble. Step granddaughters, Laura (Mark) Bandy and Sara (Gary) Lundy. Great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Taylor Welch, Olivia, John and Ben Gerving. Step great grandchildren Cierra and Aspen Slagg and Jordan Bandy, Riley, Carson and Emma Rector. Passing before him were his parents, daughter Sharon, brothers, Jim, Harry, Harold, sisters, Winifred, Janet, Trudy and Hortense.
