Robert Hatfield's Obituary
Robert Omer Hatfield, 84, of Numa, passed away on December 24, 2020 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville surrounded by his loved ones. Robert was born in Centerville on December 8, 1936 to William and Marguerite (Mitchell) Hatfield. He grew up and attended school in Centerville. At age 17, Robert joined the United States Army and served in Germany. Upon discharge, he worked construction with his brother-in-law for many years. Robert was united in marriage to Muriel Maxine Armstrong but the couple later divorced. Robert was an avid fisherman and enjoyed having a good time visiting with his friends and family reminiscing about stories from his younger days. Robert is survived by his children: Debbie (Kevin) Swayne of Centerville, Babs (Scott) Thomas of Centerville, Rodney (Kathy) Hatfield of Centerville, Johnny (Patty) Hatfield of Mystic, Kim Walker of Mystic, Jimmy (Carissa) Hatfield of Mystic, Cori Daniels of Davenport and Gena Daniels of Davenport; 27 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Bonnie (Jim) Barton of Corning and Betty Daily of Numa as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Hatfield; his brother in infancy, Billy Hatfield; son-in-law, Mike Walker and his longtime significant other, Patricia Daniels.
