Robert F. Campbell's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Campbell, age 100 of Albia, Iowa passed away December 10, 2008 at the Monroe Care Center in Albia, Iowa.
Robert was born February 20, 1908, the son of Edward and Catherine (Wolfinger) Campbell in Cincinnati, Iowa. Robert graduated valedictorian of Cincinnati High School. He worked in the coal mines, farmed south of Centerville and raised seed popcorn. Robert ""loved the land"". While in the nursing home, he painted over one thousand fuzzy posters.
Robert is survived by his children, Jo (Jim) Sutter of Seymour, Iowa, Betty Dickson of Indianapolis, Indiana and Sue (David) Dowdy of Albia, Iowa; six grandchildren, Dr. Greg Dickson of Del Mar, California, John (Carolyn) Sutter of Kirksville, Missouri, Teresa (Todd) Musser of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jim (Vicki) Sutter of Centerville, Iowa, Donita (Chad) Leffler of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Dustin (Stephanie) Dowdy of Albia, Iowa; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Anna Bonderman, Alice Gallo, Evelyn Daniels.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Dr. Greg Dickson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Iowa. A visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home with family present from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Monroe Care Center and may be left at or mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
