Rickey Eudean Holmes Rickey Eudean Holmes of Corydon, Iowa was given his angel wings on December 8, 2010, at the age of 50 at the University of Iowa Hospital. Rick's final days were spent surrounded by friends and family and family that he had touched in some small or large way in his much too short life. Rickey was a fighter, when he was told there was nothing to do for him he wouldn't give up and fought the battle of his heart disease for 4 long years. Rickey was born January 18, 1960 in Centerville, Iowa to Lowell Holmes Jr. and Deloris (Pister) Clark. Rickey grew up in the Promise City and Seymour area. He attended Seymour Community School and was a member of the class of 1978. As a youngster Rickey enjoyed hunting and fishing with his cousins. He spent many hours farming with his Dad. Rick was his Grandpa Holmes' pride and joy and they spent many hours together causing trouble. As Rick grew older he decided that the daredevil in him needed to be put to use so he took up motor cross. Rickey was well liked by everyone he came in contact with. The teachers knew him well because he seemed to cause a lot of ruckus wherever he went, but they still thought a lot of him. As a child Rickey loved his trucks and motorcycles and that love turned into his dream of driving semi- and he finally reached his dream of having his own and operating his own trucking business, R & L Trucking. Rick's other dream of having a Harley also was reached and he lived it to the fullest by being a part of the ABATE of Iowa D12 and taking part in countless motorcycle rallies, Sturgis and the Black Hills of South Dakota being one of his favorites. He was united marriage to Linda Darlene Wakefield on November 25, 1992 in Chariton, Iowa. Rickey was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was always proud of all his children and loved his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Linda Darlene Holmes of Corydon, Iowa; children Chad Holmes and wife Ashley of Sandyville, Iowa, Brandi Flickinger and husband Jason of Altoona, Iowa, Cody Brown of Ankeny, Iowa and Matt Schoonover of Centerville, Iowa; grandchildren: Seth, Gage, and Cole Holmes and Taylor Flickinger; father Lowell Homes, Jr. and Linda White of Promise City, Iowa; mother Deloris and Jack Clark of Centerville, Iowa; sisters Deb Dustin and husband Larry of Albia, Iowa and Lisa Holmes of Altoona, Iowa; brother Jeff Holmes of Altoona, Iowa; step-brother Bobby Clark of Centerville, Iowa; step-sister Candy Clark of St. Louis; sisters-in-law Terri Lenig and husband John of Seymour, Iowa and Sandy Wakefield of Seymour, Iowa; brother-in-law Chuck Ware of Unionville, Missouri; mother and father-in-law Everett Wakefield and Mary O'Donnell of Centerville, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Lowell and Fern Holmes and Lloyd and Grace Pister; step-brother Rod Clark and twin sons Jason and Johnathon Holmes.
