The best uncle ever. Not just that, a truly wonderful human being. He loved everyone, judged none and is still missed everyday. I'll never forget those Harley rides and that laugh when he realized he was scaring the holy heck out of me when I was only 12 years old and he was going 75mph on the highway! Best laugh ever, wish I could have recorded it!
I remember how Rick and Linda would always bring the Harley and take us on rides. Uncle Rick did not like taking the Harley on gravel to get to us, but he did it anyways!!!! Also, one of the funniestfavorite memories is his face when he realized he was putting diesel in his Harley Sportster! I miss you everyday Uncle Rick I love you very much!

Linda, I am so sorry for you loss. Rickey was the last patient I took care of at UIHC before I left in May, we both cried that day -). Rickey was so special to Missy and Me. We were emotionally torn whenever he came to the hospital, not good for Rickey, but he was a highlight for our day. He was always joking with us walking around wearing his leather jacket (battery holder) naturally Rickey had to look cooler than any other VAD. -) He was so full of life and joy to be around. It was a privilege to know him and you. I am praying for you through this difficult time. He was a great guy.
Linda and family, We are so sorry to hear of you loss. Rick was a great person who was always willing to help, share, or go that extra mile for anyone. He was a good friend to my late brother Jack Wells and I am sure they are up above saying lets get those trucks loaded and party after the works done.
