Richard Singley's Obituary
Richard ( Dick ) Warren Singley Sr., 89 of Moulton passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at Ridgewood Specialty Care in Ottumwa. Richard was born on December 4, 1929 in Centerville to William Clifford & Dora (Cline) Singley. He received his education from Moulton High School graduating in 1948. On September 9, 1951, Richard was united in marriage to Edith Belle Southern at the Methodist Church in Moulton. To this union came four children: Doug, Rick, Diana and Linda. Richard was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served from 1948-1950. After the service he came home and worked various jobs until he was hired by John Deere Ottumwa Works. He worked as a machine operator until his retirement in December 1989. Richard enjoyed being outdoors when he was able. Survivors include his children: Doug Singley ( Pauline ), Rick Singley (Pattie), Diane Anderson, Linda Horn, 11 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, sisters: Wanda Gordon, Shirley Jean Westercamp (Richard), Sharon Joan McWilliams (Robert) and sister-in-law, Lila Singley. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith, two infant grandchildren, son-in-law, Billy Horn, parents and brother, Roland Singley. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home in Moulton with Rev. Diane Mason officiating. Military rites will take place at the funeral home immediately following the funeral. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private at a later date in Sunset View Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Donor's Choice and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com or facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
