Richard A. Schmit's Obituary
Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean. -John Muir (1915)
Richard Anthony Schmit, age 70 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at his home of natural causes.

Richard spent his retirement much the way he spent his free time; in the great outdoors. Hunting, trapping and fishing were his loves and he took every opportunity to enjoy them. (Shahed) Ghoghowala (grandsons Gabriel and Zachary Richard); three sisters: Karen Gates, Teresa (Rick) Scullion, Margaret (Jim) Feivor; brother David Schmit and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Edward and James, and brother-in-law Dale Gates.
