Heaven has grown sweeter now that my Uncle Richard is there. I will always remember those big hugs he gave this little girl. He was a dear uncle and I loved him very much. I will treasure the memories and wonderful stories told by three brothers who grew up on a farm in rural Missouri. Goodbye, Uncle Richard - I will see you again on that beautiful shore! Richard was always willing to give a hand no matter what the occasion. Always enjoyed his stories and talking about fishing. He will be greatly missed. Pierce family, I worked with Richard at Viskase when he was doing contract work. We used to talk quite abit and he always was upbeat. My sons worked with him at Rubbermaid and thought a lot of him. When we would see both of you at the flea market in Keosauqua, I always had to give him a bad time but he gave it right back. Richard will certainly be missed. I was his favorite niece, because he told me so! Of course he told me that when the other nieces weren't around! If truth be known, since only had sons, all the nieces were probably his favorite! Uncle Richard had an unforgettable smile and most tender heart. Soft spoken and gentle and always willing to look at the negative in a more positive way. He always had a twinkle in his eye when he was around Aunt Neta, so you just knew that the love he had for her was great. He will be missed not just by me but by the entire Allen Family. May our Great and Wonderful God comfort my Aunt, Brian, and Ricci during this time and help them to understand that death is not the end but just the beginning and that even though we don't always understand God's purpose for what happens here on earth, in time we will.
