Richard E. New, age 80, of Allerton, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Richard was born on August 24, 1941 in Lucas County, Iowa, the fifth son of Chester E. and Mary E. (Offenburger) New. On July 7, 1963, Richard married Linda L. Casey. To this union, one son, Brian Eugene New, was born on May 6, 1967.
Richard worked as a mechanic, having owned and operated his own shop for a few years. He also worked at Jones Dairy, Spidle Auto, and later did some carpenter work. Richard was also a volunteer on the Corydon Fire Department in his younger years.
Left to honor Richard's memory is his wife, Linda of Allerton, son, Brian (Jane) of Epworth, Iowa, and two grandchildren, Andrew New of Epworth, Iowa, and Kaitlyn New of Dubuque, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters-in-law, and mother-in-law, Josephine M. Casey.
