Richard A. Miller's Obituary
Richard Andrew Miller, age 91, of Centerville, Iowa died Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the Golden Age Care Center, Centerville, Iowa.
Richard was born November 3, 1914, the son of John and Jesse (Donon) Miller in Griffinsville, Iowa. He married Shirley Yvonne McVey September 26, 1946 in Hammond, Indiana. Richard was a World War II veteran, serving in Africa, Italy, and Austria. He worked as a coal miner, worked as a laborer in construction, and for L & W Quarry. Richard enjoyed being with his family and talking on the CB radio. Richard loved spending time with animals, especially his dog Jack. He was a member of the Mystic American Legion.
Richard is survived by his five children, Richard, Nancy, Jon, Darla, and Micheal; a sister Jenny Turner; twelve grandchildren; one step grandchild; eight great grandchildren; and a niece and nephew. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Shirly Miller; ten brothers and sisters; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Graveside services were held at 2 PM Monday, January 9, 2006 at the Highland Cemetery, Mystic with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.
