Richard Lee Irving Sr.'s Obituary
Richard Lee Irving Sr., age 79, of Moravia, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 at his home.
Richard was born on May 10, 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Margaret Louise (Bowen) Irving.
After high school Richard enlisted in the United States Navy. Richard spent four years in the service, honorably discharged in 1964. He later attended college and received his degree in Diesel Mechanics. Richard worked numerous jobs throughout the years, including Rubbermaid Manufacturing and as a custodian at Centerville Community Schools until his retirement.
Richard enjoyed going to the casino, cooking, reading, playing the guitar, and fishing-which he loved dearly.
Left to honor Richards memory are his children, Michel (Curtis) Graham of Swisher, IA, Richard Jr. (Megan) Irving of Moravia, IA, Cheryl (Chad) Miller of Moravia, IA, Bobbi Jo (Brian) Taylor of Tuscon, AZ, and Brandon (Tasha) Irving of Moravia, IA. Grandchildren, Zachary (Christina) Graham, Ian Graham, Jacob Irving, Aubrey Irving, Matt Miller, Erika (James) Gilbert, Jadyn Robb, Quentin Robb, Ellysa Robb, Samantha Taylor, Parker Taylor, Alliya Irving and Eastlynn Irving. 8 great-grandchildren. Siblings, Ernie (Donna) Irving, Rose Spencer, Mary (Eldon) Brown, Shirley Dinsmore, Pat (Mike) Salem and Lois Waggoner.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Margaret Louise Irving, as well as brothers, Fred Irving and Paul Irving.
Per wishes, cremation has been accorded with private services being held. Memorials may be made to the family of Richard Irving, to be determined at a later date, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, ATTN: Irving family, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
