Richard Faris' Obituary
Richard Ivan Faris, age 84, of Seymour passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Continental Care Center at Seymour. Richard was born on February 27, 1928 in rural Seymour, the son of Everett Ivan and Margaret Emaline (Sager) Faris. He attended the Brush College rural school. Military service in 1946-1947 included service in the U. S. Army at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas, and post-war Japan. Richard was united in marriage to Willa Mae Brown on September 12, 1948. Richard worked many years for Maytag in Newton, Iowa and later retired from Fowler Elevator in Seymour. He also spent several years in Baker, California. Richard is survived by two daughters, Ivalyn Mae Faris of Des Moines, Iowa and Jocelyn Kay Faris of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and one sister Dorothy Dean (Faris) Brown of Indianola, Iowa.
