Richard Fain's Obituary
Richard Paul Fain, son of Richard Rhea and Flossie Mae (Fawley) Fain was born April 2, 1918 in Junction City, Kansas. The family moved to a Chariton, Iowa farm in the 1920's. Richard was a 1936 graduate of Chariton High School and attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. He moved to Allerton in 1939 to farm. He served in the U. S. Army in the early 1940's. After returning from the Army, he opened the Fain Garage in 1945. Richard was united in marriage to Ruby Jane Smith in 1947 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale. In 1949 one son, Richard Edwin Fain, was born to this union. Richard was a 50-year 32o member of the Masons and was also a member of Za Gig Shrine. After his retirement he and Ruby remained in Allerton, but they enjoyed winters in Arizona for 20 years. Richard is survived by his wife Ruby Jane Fain, son Richard Edwin Fain and his wife Barbara, granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Fain, great grandchildren Tristan Fain, Tarren Newton and Tana Newton, brother James Luther Fain of Arizona, sister Julia Thomas of Corydon and special friend Linda Fain of Corydon. He was preceded in death by his grandson Ryan Fain, brother Isaac Fain, and sisters Margaret Ann and Virginia Louise.
