Dr. Richard (Dick) Eudean Cooper, fifth child of Leo and Lennie Hamm Cooper, was born on December 27, 1928 at their home west of Mystic, Iowa and passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the age of 79 at the Golden Age Manor in Cent Read Obituary

Sharon and Family- Our deepest sympathy to you all. I know that Mother and Daddy (Gloria & Herb Kreikenbaum) had nothing but admiration and good feelings for both of you. After we moved to Centerville in 95, we enjoyed seeing both of you at the concert series every winter and spring. Dick had a wonderful sense of humor and it was difficult seeing him physically debilitated by his disease. But, his mind remained sharp whenever we saw him. We want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this very difficult time. If All Dogs Go To Heaven, then Dick will be one of God's very busy angels taking care of his four-footed buddies as he did so well here on earth. Sharon, Scott and Shari, my deepest sympathy go out to all of you and the rest of the family. I remember the first time meeting Mr Coop while going to Iowa State and being friends with Shari, what a great sense of humor he had and you could truly tell he loved his daughter. He was a diehard Cyclone fan, absolutely loved tailgating, loved good food and good friends and I loved the chance to tailgate with them and be part of it. I must say that I am a better person for knowing Mr. Coop and he will be well missed, though I know that he is in a better place, a place that someday we all aspire to be.
