Richard Doyle Clark's Obituary
Richard Doyle Clark, age 72 of Winterset, formerly of Mystic, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at his home.
Richard was born on February 10, 1944 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Ned and Ruth (Holland) Clark. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Foster, and to this union of marriage, two children were born, Richie and Donna. They were later divorced. Richard married Susan Elizabeth Foster on October 10, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Richard enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 18. He served his country faithfully during the Vietnam War Era. After being discharged from the Army, he began a career in the transportation field as a truck driver. He was an over the road truck driver for many years. He hauled for many trucking companies over the years, including Helena and Ruan.
He was very fond of doing yard work, and keeping it looking nice. Richard enjoyed working on vehicles and attending classic car shows.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sue Clark of Winterset; his children, Richie (Kathy) Clark of Tyler, Texas, and Donna Pohl of Davenport; his step-children, Christie (Mike) Rodgers of Winterset, Janet (Brian) Cho of La Vista, Nebraska, and Amy (Scott) Hoffman of Urbandale; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his siblings, Carol (Larry) Drake of Exline, Jimmie Bill (Melinda) Clark of Centerville, Claudia (Darrell) Harris of Moulton, David (Kelli) Clark of Mystic, and Alan Clark of Niota, Illinois; his Father and Mother-in-Law, Robert (Myrtle) Foster of Corydon; and two brother-in-laws, Larry (Donna) Foster of Corydon, and Marvin (Carla) Foster of Corydon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Ruth Clark; his siblings, Ronnie Clark, Gary Clark, and Cynthia Clark; and a niece, Tracey Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Shurmaine McAlpine officiating. A visitation will take place on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 1:30-2:30PM. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery in Mystic Iowa following the service.
