Rhoda Pauline Stephanie's Obituary
Rhoda Pauline Stephanie, age 89, of Moulton died Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on September 22, 1921, the daughter of William and Agnes (Parsons) Schroeder. She was united in marriage with Raymond Stephanie on April 25, 1946 in Ottumwa. In 1953, the couple moved to Blakesburg from Ottumwa. Raymond passed away on February 3, 1978. Following his death Rhoda moved to Moulton, where she could be closer to her son Dennis and his family.She is survived by her sons: Raymond Michael Stephanie and his wife Wanda of Eddyville, Iowa and Dennis Martian Stephanie and his wife Barb of Moulton,Iowa; daughters, Rayma Marie Werneberg of Indianola, Iowa and Barbara Anne McConkey of Albia, Iowa; as well as her Eleven grandchildren and Nine great-grandchildren.Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, William Joseph Stephanie; a daughter Mary Elizabeth; brothers, Ralph and Stanley; sister, Doris Smith; and a son-in-law Walt Werneberg. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton with Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Interment will follow in the Blakesburg cemetery at Blakesburg, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-8 pm with the family present from 5-7 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral home in Moulton, Iowa.The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made in Rhoda's name be made to the Moulton First Responders.
