REX PERKINS Obituary's Obituary
Rex Duane Perkins (75), was born June 14,1939 to Marvin and Shirley (Elmore) Perkins. He departed from this life on January 12, 2015, at his home. Rex was born and raised on a farm east of Cambria. Rex attended school in Cambria and graduated Cambria High School in 1957. Rex married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Lucas, on May 22,1959. To this union five children were born, Stacy, Mike, Alan, Susan, and Sondra. Rex was the fourth generation to farm the century family farm. Rex enjoyed taking care of his menagerie of animals, including pigs, goats, sheep, horses, cows, Llamas, mini mules, and a donkey. Rex enjoyed having his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren spend time on the farm, and teaching them the tricks of the trade as a farmer. Rex had a genuine soft spot for all little kids and especially loved to tease, pick on, and play with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, for they were the apple of his eye. Rex never knew a stranger and always had something ornery to say to every one he met. He enjoyed watching westerns and was a life long fan of Roy Rogers. Rex is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Shirley Perkins, In-laws, Francis and Darlene Lucas, and grandchildren, Joseph Duane Henry, Michael Blake Perkins, and Michelle Renee Carlson. Rex is survived by his wife Sharon and children Stacy Henry, Corydon, Mike Perkins, Cambria, Alan (Kim) Perkins, California, Susan (Wade) Duley, Centerville, and Sondra (Mike) Wolfe, Allerton. Siblings, Joanne (Wendell) Terrell, Eddyville, Leland (Liz) Perkins, Waukee, Lyle (Charlotte) Perkins, Atlantic, Keith (Lynn) Perkins, Oskaloosa, and Becky (Jason) Andrew, Unionville, MO. Brother-in-law, Steve (Connie) Lucas, Arizona, sister-in-laws Ann (Don) Stevens, Millerton, Mary (Ron) Potter, Adel and Jan(Dick) Harden, Clio, 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
