Rex W. Alexander's Obituary
Rex Alexander, age 78 of Unionville, Iowa, passed away November 18, 2009 at his home.
Rex was born September 12, 1931, the son of Howard and Ruth (Archibald) Alexander in Centerville, Iowa. He grew up in Unionville, Iowa and graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1948. Rex enlisted in the Air Force and served his country during the Korean Conflict. Subsequently he became associated in various restaurant enterprises of which were Baja Tacos and Taco Johns. He married Mary Minor on March 25, 1950 in Davenport, Iowa. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family.
Rex is survived by his wife, Mary of 59 years; children, Rick (Barb) Alexander of Unionville, Iowa, Jane (Buddy) Montoya of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, and Cort (Ginger) William Alexander of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a sister, Lois Swasick of Centerville, Iowa; one grandchild, Nicole Bravo of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; and extended family, Greg (Amy) Hixenbaugh of Carlisle, Glen (Marsha) Hixenbaugh of Gilbert, Arizona, and Dianna (Kevin) Stacy of Overland Park, Kansas and their children. Cremation has been accorded per the family's request. There will not be any funeral services. A memorial has been established to Hospice of Central Iowa and may be left at or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
