Rev. James Delbert Mastin's Obituary
Rev. James Delbert Mastin, 87, of Melrose passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at Corydon Specialty Care. Jim was born on August 30, 1929 in Corydon to Edkar "Ed" & Marvah (Hull) Mastin. He received his education from Corydon High School, graduating in 1947. After school, Jim and his brother ran a logging company in the area for a time. He worked other jobs throughout his life, with the last job he had being a designer at Deflecta Shield in Corydon. Jim was also a minister at Trinity Faith Center in Promise City. Jim was an outdoorsman, he loved working in his yard, woodworking and fishing. He was loyal to his faith and tried to make this world a better place. Survivors include his wife Karen of Melrose, 11 children: Cindy Martindale of Red Oak, Iowa, Doug Mastin of Henderson, Iowa, Dennis Mastin of Hastings, Iowa, Deanna Denny of Dallas, Texas, Threasa Mastin of Red Oak, Iowa, Lori Ann Geiser of Melrose, Iowa, Jeff Brown (Krista) of Moulton, Iowa, Michael Brown of Centerville, Jonathan Brown of Trenton, Missouri, Kimberly Savber (Dennis) of Promise City, Iowa, Timothy Brown of Promise City, Iowa and a brother, Ron Mastin (Barb) of Allerton. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Art and Raymond Mastin. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September, 20, 2016 at Corydon Cemetery.
