Rebecca A. Chapman's Obituary
Rebecca A. Chapman, age 58, of Centerville, Iowa, died Friday, July 3, 2015, at Legacy Lodge in Chariton, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Leslie and Norma (Smith) Kirkland on September 23, 1956 in Coos Bay, Oregon. She graduated from Centerville Community High School.On April 28, 1973, Rebecca was united in marriage to Robert Chapman in Centerville, Iowa. She was a screen printer and also a manager of a Convenience Store all in Texas, before returning back to Centerville. In February of 2003 along with her husband, Robert, they opened up Nickelback Redemption Center in Centerville. She so enjoyed seeing the customer and chatting about what was going on in their lives. She never met a stranger and always had a smile shining from ear to ear. She was especially fond of her family and loved cooking for them, having BBQs, taking road trips down country roads in her favorite blue truck. Her mother was her pride and joy and wanted to care for her and see that everything was okay. She enjoyed her music, palm trees, and ocean beachesShe was preceded in death by: her father, Leslie Kirkland; maternal grandparents, Floyd and Ruby Smith; Paternal grandparents, Clyde and Leona Kirkland; her father and mother-in-law, Archie and Aline Chapman.Rebecca is survived by: her husband, Robert Chapman of Centerville, Iowa; her mother, Norma Cicco of Centerville, Iowa; son, Jake Chapman and his wife, Loretta of Centerville, Iowa; daughters, Renee Cossolotto and T.J. Wood of Centerville, Iowa; Ericka Chapman and Travis Ashby of Centerville, Iowa and Maranda Cossolotto of Centerville, Iowa; brothers, Randy Kirkland of Unionville, Missouri and Brad Kirkland of Centerville, Iowa; a sister, Stephanie McCann of Centerville, Iowa; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Emery McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the Numa Cemetery near Numa, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 2 pm until 7 pm with the family present from 5 pm until 7 pm.
