Reatta Fern Sindt's Obituary
Reatta Fern (Coffman) Sindt, age 75, passed away on Monday October 21, 2024 at her home under the care of EveryStep Hospice.
Reatta was born on February 18, 1949 to Plaz and Mamie May (Hall) Coffman. She received her G.E.D. in Buffalo, Iowa and continued her education at Muscatine Community College.
On March 13, 1970, Reatta married Jerry Sindt and to this union 5 children were born, Jodi, Jerry, Jr., John, Katrina, and Debra. She was a happy homemaker and loved getting to spend time with her children, and later on, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved her dog, Tiny and her cat, Boots.
Throughout her life, Reatta worked at the Heinz Ketchup factory in Muscatine, Franks Foundry- where she worked alongside Jerry, and Hy-Vee in Centerville. She was an excellent cook and baker, and loved spending time with her family. Her and Jerry did everything together, including help build a truck from nothing to drivable out of 5 different vehicles. Reatta was very good at keeping the shop clean and making sure Jerry put everything where it goes.
Reatta is survived by her husband of over 54 years, Jerry Sr., children, Jodi Sindt and Jerry Sindt Jr.; siblings, Linda and Carl; grandchildren, Jeremiah Morrow, Jerren Long, Kevin Sindt, Julie Morrow, Justin Long, Emilee Long, Levi Long, Lindsey Terrell, Ryan Sindt, Chase Whicker, Emily Smith, and Danielle Terrell; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Huxley, Kaydence, Adeline, Landon, Addison, Zoie, Brianna, Emeree, and Bryson; as well as many numerous extended family and friends.
Reatta is preceded in death by her parents, Plaz and Mamie May (Hall) Coffman; her children, John Sindt, Katrina Farless, and Debra Sindt; her in-laws, Albert and Gladys Sindt; and her siblings, Ronnie, Maxine, Florence, Delores, Wilma, and Howards.
Visitation services will be held on Friday, October 25th from 1:00-2:00 pm at the Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 2pm with interment following at the Salem Cemetery.
