Raymond Edward Potter's Obituary
Raymond Potter, 88 of Cincinnati passed away, Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Mercy One - Centerville.
Raymond was born to John & Ruth (Mincks) Potter on January 13, 1934 in Sedan, Iowa. On October 30, 1965, Raymond was united in marriage to Marles Moriarty.
Raymond was a farmer his entire life and worked for Appanoose County Secondary Roads for 21 years as a heavy equipment operator. Raymond was extremely proud to be a Veteran having served in the Army both active and inactive for several years. He enjoyed running equipment, farming, NASCAR, and time spent with his family. In his younger years, Raymond loved going west on hunts of various critters and even buying wild mustangs to break and sale.
Survivors include his children: Shane Conger (Patty), Kelley Potter, Bruce Potter (Pam), grandchildren: Chad Conger (Ginny), Kyle Conger, Michael Soumounthong (Sara), great grandchildren: Kenzie Conger, Kendra Conger, siblings John Potter (Cheryl), Lois Howard and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marles Potter, infant sister, Alice Potter and brother-in-law, Jack Howard.
Graveside service will be 1:30 pm, Monday, March 14, 2022 at Hilltown Cemetery. Visitation will take place Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville from 12-3 pm with family present from 1-3 pm.
