Raymond Mericle's Obituary
Raymond Mericle, 77 of Corydon passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Wayne County Hospital. Raymond was born on April 16, 1938 to Cecil & Evelyn (Mason) Mericle in Mercer, Missouri. Raymond worked as a mechanic for years. He enjoyed his work while he was young and later in life enjoyed talking shop with others. Raymond enjoyed fishing and time spent with his family and friends. He also enjoyed playing cards, poker was his game of choice. Survivors include, three children: Connie Dunaway of Des Moines, Gene Mericle of Longmont, Colorado, Sonja Day of Colorado, 7 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, brother, Jerry Mericle of Des Moines, many nieces and nephews, including nieces: Cathey Holloway of Corydon, Vicki Rus of Corydon, nephews: Mark Southern of Lake Marie, Missouri, Chuck Southern of Nebraska and a good friend David Moore of Allerton. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Dwight, Dennis & Donnie Mericle, Earl Ross, three sisters: Wanda Southern, Thelma & Betty Ross and his parents. Visitation will be Monday, August 10, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. - 10 a.m. at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon. Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2015 at New York Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the family which will be designated at a later date.
