Raymond Flowers' Obituary
Raymond Flowers, age 90 of Centerville, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. He was born the son of Robert M. and Bessie J. (Martin) Flowers on August 28, 1916 in Centerville. He graduated from the Centerville Community Schools in 1934. On November 27, 1941, Raymond was united in marriage to Maude Stogdill in Lancaster, Missouri. He served his country during WWII in the US Army from September 22, 1942 until his honorable discharge on November 10, 1945. Raymond was an accountant for Iowa Southern Utilities for over 45 years. After retiring from ISU, he started his own real estate company, Flowers Real Estate. He was a member of the Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville where he served as Deacon, Treasurer and Elder. He was a 50 year member of Jackson Lodge #42 where he has a past worshipful master, and a member of the Yorkrite bodies as well as the Kaaba Shrine Club.He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Robert, Harry and Forrest Flowers; sisters, Ruth Flowers, Letha Padavich, Wilma Padavich, Sharlot Ricketts and an infant sister.Raymond is survived by: his wife, Maude Flowers of Centerville, Iowa; daughter, Sue Irelan of Alma, Missouri; grandchildren, Edward Irelan of Higginsville, Missouri, Amy Irelan of Centerville, Iowa and Jill Ray of Alma, Missouri; sisters, Mae Davis of Eldridge, Iowa and Betty Elarton of Centerville, Iowa.A joint Masonic and Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 1 pm at the To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Raymond Flowers please visit our Sympathy Store.
