Raymond E Couchman's Obituary
Raymond Eugene Couchman, 94 of Corydon passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon. Raymond was born to Ralph & Iva Couchman on January 24, 1921 in Sewal, Iowa. He received his education from Sewal High School. On April 3, 1940 Raymond was united in marriage to Ruby Pearl Radcliff. To this union came two children; Randal and Arlene. Raymond spent the majority of his life farming. He enjoyed playing cards and dominos. Raymond and Ruby traveled on numerous bus trips. They made it to all four corners of the United States and also Canada. After his retirement from the farm, Raymond volunteered his time to the Prairie Trails Museum of Wayne County for 28 years. In his younger years, Raymond and Ruby were members of the Sewal Church. Survivors include a son, Randal Couchman of Perry, Iowa, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, sister, Naomi Morris of Waterloo, sister-in-law, Pauline Couchman of Corydon, son-in-law, Clifford McMurry of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Couchman, daughter, Arlene McMurry and two brothers: Claris and Irvin Couchman. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 31, 2015 at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will follow immediately at Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service from 10-11 a.m. at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon. Memorials may be given to the Prairie Trails Museum of Wayne County and condolences may be shared at www.thomasrandolphfh.com.
