Randy Whitacre's Obituary
Randy Whitacre, age 54 of Des Moines, Iowa died Thursday Morning, March 13, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Randy was born April 28, 1953, the son of Donald and Lenora (Sparks) Whitacre in Cincinnati, Iowa. He spent his early childhood years living in Cincinnati before moving to the Des Moines area. Randy attended Des Moines Schools. He was employed with a meat packing house in Des Moines as a certified meat cutter. Randy also worked in the construction field.
Randy is survived by his parents, Donald and Lenora Whitacre of Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Debbie Whitacre of Des Moines, Iowa; a brother, Donald (Connie) Whitacre of Des Moines, Iowa; an aunt, Pat Nelson of Cincinnati, Iowa; four nephews, Sean, Lance, Joel, and Noah; five nieces, Denise, Lisa, Maggie, Ellie, and Allie; and many cousins. Randy was preceded in death by his wife Geneva; a sister, Cindy Whitacre; and his grandparents, Thomas and Lucille Whitacre, and Harry and Maggie Sparks.
Graveside services will be held 11 am, Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Iowa with Pastor Lloyd Johnston officiating. A visitation will be held Monday morning at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with the family present from 8-10:30 am. A memorial has been established to the family and may be left at or mailed to Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
