Randy Curl, 53 of Des Moines passed away Monday, January 11th at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Randy was born in Portland, Arkansas on September 5, 1956. Randy was united in marriage to Jane Drown on May 22, 1992 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was a standout basketball player while attending the University of Southern Indiana. Randy played professional basketball overseas for a period before returning to the states to become a coach. He was currently an assistant coach at West Des Moines Valley. Randy was a member of Cornerstone Family Church in Des Moines and enjoyed playing/coaching basketball and time spent with his family. Randy is survived by his wife Jane Curl of Des Moines, two brother; Fred Lee Curl(Evone) of New York, Tommie Lee Curl(Dorothy) o Pine Bluff, Arkansas, sister, Vonda Kay Brown of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and two nieces, Tanisha and Ashley of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, January 15th at Cornerstone Family Church in Des Moines. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-7 p.m. with the family present from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Family Church. The family will also be receiving friends from 10:00 am until the time of funeral on Friday.
