Ramona Marie Strode's Obituary
Ramona Marie Strode, age 69, of Centerville, died Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in West Des Moines.
Ramona was born on August 17, 1954 in Princeton, Missouri, the daughter of Jerry and Jacqueline (Ridout) Hayden. She graduated from Moravia High School with the Class of 1973. On July 6, 1974, Ramona was united in marriage to Emmett Strode, and to this union, two children were born, Mandy and Caitlin. Ramona furthered her education at Indian Hills Community College earning her Associates degree in 1976.
Ramona worked hard as a mother, raising her children and taking care of the home. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting and painting. Some of her favorite things to do was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and going for day trips.Left to cherish Ramona's memory are her husband of almost 50 years, Emmett Strode; her daughter, Caitlin Watts; three grandchildren, Robert Hull, Alzada Allman and Chloe Strode; her step-mom, Georgia Mann; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Hayden and Jacqueline Exline; and her daughter, Mandy Hull.
Per wishes, cremation has been accorded and there will be no services held at this time. Burial will take place at a later date at Dale Cemetery, north of Centerville.
