Ralph Stickler's Obituary
Ralph Kenneth Stickler, age 81 of Centerville, Iowa went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
He was born the son of Jess G. and Nellie (Coates) Stickler on November 11, 1932 in Iconium, Iowa. Ralph graduated from Centerville Community High School in 1951 and served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956.
Ralph was united in marriage to Marilyn Landgrebe on May 19, 1957 in Centerville, Iowa. He will be greatly missed by his loving family that includes his wife Marilyn, two daughters, Debbie (Vern) Milburn and Donna (Dave) Jensen, and five grandchildren, Nicole Milburn, Joshua, Timothy, Anna and Laura Jensen. Ralph began his farming career after returning home from serving in the Army. He loved spending time with his family and being at home on his farm.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; daughters, Debbie Milburn and husband Vern of Centerville, Donna Jensen and husband Dave of Des Moines; grandchildren, Nicole Milburn of Centerville, Joshua, Timothy, Anna and Laura Jensen of Des Moines; sisters, Mary Porter and husband Merrill of Des Moines, Joan DeGroot and husband Don of Runnells; a brother, Dick Stickler and wife Beverly of Centerville; and several nieces and nephews.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Nellie Stickler; and brothers, Gerald and Joe Stickler.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, September 19, 2014 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Reverend Larry Hudson officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Centerville. The funeral home will be open Thursday from 11 AM-5 PM for the public to pay their last respects. A visitation with the family present will take place on Friday at Lange Funeral Home from 9-11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Church of Christ in Centerville and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
