Polly Parks' Obituary
Alice Pauline "Polly" Parks, 92 formerly of Centerville, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Sunnybrook Assisted Living in Fairfield. Polly was born on September 13, 1927 to Samuel and Elva (Kendrick) Kunzman in rural Selma, Iowa. Polly received her education from Selma High School, graduating in 1944. She furthered her education at Parsons College, graduating in 1949. On January 30, 1949, Polly was united in marriage to Orrin "O.R." Parks at Parsons College in Fairfield. To this union came one son, Douglas. Polly was a school teacher and she finished her career in Centerville Schools. Polly was an active member of First United Methodist Church while living in Centerville. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family all over the United States. Polly enjoyed square dancing, playing golf, gardening, knitting, baking cookies, playing bridge and generally being productive. Polly did a lot of walking, but she never just walked. She always moved at a rapid pace. Polly was happiest nurturing and caring for everything: her house plants, pets, and especially her loved ones. Polly is survived by her nephew, Wallace Kunzman Jr., nieces: Teresa Dickinson (Ed), Janis Mahle (Scott) and Cynthia Kunzman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, O.R., son, Douglas, brothers: Charley and Wallace Kunzman. Graveside service will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday August 26, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati. Due to Covid-19, visitation without family will be held all day Tuesday until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
