Phyllis Morlan's Obituary
Phyllis Morlan, age 66 of Moulton, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Robert S. and Wilma (Kirby) Brinegar on January 16, 1945 in Centerville, Iowa. She graduated from the Moulton Community Schools in 1963.On May 6, 1966, Phyllis was united in marriage to Allen C. Morlan at the Moulton United Methodist Church in Moulton. She worked in the Appanoose County Auditors Office from 1963 until she retired on December 31, 2000. She was baptized on November 17, 1974 at the Moulton Christian Church, where she was a Sunday School Secretary/Treasurer. She also worked on the church dinners and enjoyed working with her church family.She was preceded in death by: her father, Robert S. Brinegar on April 9, 2010; husband, Allen Morlan on January 15, 2010; and a brother, Tommie Brinegar on September 20, 1997.Phyllis is survived by: her son, Greg Morlan of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her mother, Wilma Brinegar of Moulton, Iowa; a brother, Larry Brinegar of Moulton, Iowa; and a sister, Shirley Schlotter and her husband, Bob of Kansas City, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Deanna Brinegar of Moulton, IowaMemorial services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11 AM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial of her ashes will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 2 pm until 7 pm with the family present from 5 pm til 7 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to either the Moulton Christian Church or to Moulton First Responders and can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
