Phyllis Frances Clayworth's Obituary
Phyllis Frances Clayworth, age 90 of Moravia, Iowa passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Homestead of Centerville.
Phyllis was born on December 28, 1931 to Joseph and Florence (Giglitto) Cicco in Centerville, Iowa. She attended Mystic Schools. On January 15, 1949, she was united in marriage to Harry Clayworth and to this union, two children were born, Norma and John. After being married, the couple moved to the Clayworth farm near Udell, Iowa. Harry and Phyllis were married 70 years prior to his passing in 2019.
Phyllis worked as a CNA at Golden Age Care Center for 18 years. She loved cooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Phyllis and Harry both retired in April of 1995, sold their farm, and moved to Moravia.
Left to cherish Phylliss memory are her daughter, Norma (Rod) Woodward of Moravia; her daughter-in-law, Sheila (Doug) Clemens of Moravia; five grandchildren, Chad (Cheryl) Miller, Clint (Jessica) Woodward, Lydia (Steven) Daniels, Cody (Leslie) Clayworth, and Casey (Jon) Morlan, all of Moravia; twelve great grandchildren, Matt Miller, Erika (James) Gilbert, Casen Woodward, Parker Woodward, Gracelyn Woodward, Blane Clayworth, Trenton Clayworth, Bentley Clayworth, Ava Martin, Jazmine Lewis, Mesa Morlan and Macon Morlan; one great-great grandson, Riggin Miller; a great-great granddaughter on the way; a sister-in-law, Virginia Clayworth; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Clayworth; her son, John Clayworth; parents, Joseph and Florence Cicco; three brothers, Nick Cicco, Albert Cicco, and Joe Cicco; five sisters, Mary Claybaugh, Jennie Sullivan, Josephine Stewart, Irene Faoro, and Stella Baptist.
Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Moravia with Pastor Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia. Visitation will take place Friday, January 28, 2022 beginning at 1:00PM at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia with the family greeting friends from 5-7PM.
