Phyliss "Hook" Froehlich's Obituary
Phyliss was born on August 30, 1929 to Walter Meyer and Gertrude Allorie in Merrill, Wisconsin. In the early 1940's the family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she met and married Duane L. Hook on January 28, 1946. To this union 13 children were born. In September of 1966 Duane Phyliss moved their family to Corydon, Iowa. In addition to raising the family, Phyliss worked for many years at Shivvers Manufacturing in Corydon. That marriage ended in divorce. In the mid 1980's Phyliss moved back to Wisconsin and married Adolph Froehlich. They lived in Wisconsin and Arkansas. Upon Adolph's passing away in 1966, Phyliss returned to Corydon to be near many of her children. In October 2099 Phyliss moved to the Corydon Nursing and Rehab Center where she enjoyed reading, watching television and playing bingo. A special thank you for the tender, loving care from Becky Hook and Chrystal Hook. Phyliss is survived by her children: Dennis D. (Dottie) Hook of Corydon, Iowa; Deanna L. Luedtke of Albert Lea, Minnesota; Dea J. (Gene) Dent of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Dixie L. (Steve) Benner of Osawatomie, Kansas, David W. (Becky) Hook of Corydon, Iowa; Donald G. (Regina) Hook of Centerville, Iowa; Darcy D. Johnston of Cleveland, Texas; Danette D. (Danny) West of Branson, Missouri; Donna R. (Mike) Rinehart of Centerville, Iowa; DaNiel M. (Tom) Penfield of Villisca, Iowa; and Darrin H. (Jill) Hook of Lee's Summit, Missouri. In additional she is survived by 25 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren and one brother Glenn D. (Marilyn) Meyer of Muskego, Wisconsin and numerous nieces and nephews. Phyliss' wishes were to be interred with Adolph in Big Bend, Wisconsin.
