Peggy Jean Howe's Obituary
Peggy Jean Howe, 88 of Centerville, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Northern Mahaska Specialty Care in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Peggy was born to Claude and Ollie (Curtis) Finks on April 20, 1934 in Garfield, Iowa. Peggy graduated from Centerville High School in 1952. On April 28, 1953 she married Glen R. Howe at the First United Methodist Church in Centerville, Iowa. To this union three children were born; Steven, Rhonda and Julie.
Peggy worked for Iowa Southern Utilities (Alliant Energy) for 30 years and retired in 1995. After retirement Peggy was active in the MercyOne Auxiliary and the ISU Retirement Group.
She is survived by her daughter Rhonda (Steve) Long of Newton, IA. Her two granddaughters Jenny (Ben) Clayton of Savannah, GA and Cheryl (Josh) Russell of Baxter, IA. Great-grandchildren; Regan, Camryn and Lincoln. Brother-in-law Jim Howe of Ottumwa, IA and special nieces Lynne, Patti, Kathy and Cathy.
She was preceded by her husband Glen, son Steven, daughter Julie. Her parents, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
Visitation and Luncheon will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home Hwy 5 North in Centerville, IA. Graveside services will follow at 1pm at the Dale Cemetery. Memorials can be made to MercyOne Auxiliary Centerville, IA.
